Trying to find the solutions to our questions, we started with some secondary research about elevators and their system design. Here we also found out that the problem statement of having 1000 floors in a building is not realistic for the current scenario.

Initial Questions:

• Why the current lift system can't be used for this scale?
• Why the elevator interface has arrangement of even odd and down to up?
• How a blind person and a kid will use the lift?
• How the lift interface would be after COVID 19?
• What will be the Evacuation process?
• How to scale the existing lift design to be more safer after COVID?

Our Findings

• Mapping of buttons should match with the users mental model.
• Children below 10 years of age are not allowed to access the lift alone.
• People should always know the way-out.
